Dr. Leslie Krafft

Dr. Leslie Krafft (she/her) leads the TerrapinSTRONG onboarding program and oversees educational programs, including orientation to the university and the Words of Engagement Intergroup Dialogue Program (WEIDP).
Most recently she served for 5 years as a residential case manager at UMD. Dr. Krafft developed the annual campuswide Terps Take Care interactive mental health fair, the DEI staff development program for the Department of Resident Life, and the coordinated campus Mental Health First Aid training program. She also serves as a Mental Health First Aid instructor, a Fostering Terp Success campus coach, a founding member of the Mental Health Coalition, and a Carillon living-learning program seminar instructor. She is a previous member of the embraceRace steering committee, the Student Affairs Diversity Initiative (SADI), and the University Senate Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee. In 2019, Dr. Krafft was awarded the Department of Resident Life Pillar of Excellence award.
Prior to her work at Maryland, Dr. Krafft served as the Director of Residence Life and Housing at the University of Redlands in California, simultaneously serving as Deputy Title IX Coordinator, adjunct faculty member, and sorority advisor. She has an Ed.D. in Leadership for Educational Justice from the University of Redlands, a M.S. in counseling from Youngstown State University, and a B.S. in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
