Dr. Stephanie H. Chang
Assistant Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion

Dr. Stephanie H. Chang serves as the assistant vice president for diversity and inclusion. In this role, she provides leadership on strategic equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives across the university. She directly supervises the following ODI units: Bias Incident Support Services, Diversity Training & Education, LGBTQ+ Equity Center, Nyumburu Cultural Center, and the Office of Multi-ethnic Student Education.
Dr. Chang joined us from the University of Delaware, where she had been serving as assistant vice president of institutional equity for student life. In this role, Dr. Chang oversaw Student Diversity & Inclusion, the Center for Intercultural Engagement, and the newly implemented Advancing Racial Equity & Inclusion Strategic Plan. Dr. Chang holds a Ph.D. in higher education, student affairs, & international education from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she was selected as the outstanding graduate student by the President’s Commission on Ethnic Minority Issues. She also holds a master’s degree in college student affairs from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree in African & Afro-American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
