Unequal Treatment & Enforcement

This session from the Critical Race Initiative will explore how punitive action is unequally applied across groups at both the institutional and individual levels. Moreover, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the civil uprisings sparked by ongoing anti-Black racism, many of these experiences are heightened and highlighted in new ways. In this session, panelists will discuss various manifestations of criminalization and how they differentially affect particular racialized groups in society.
